Meter Mix® Systems supply machines for metering, mixing and dispensing a wide range of two-part resins including polyurethanes epoxies, silicones, methacrylates and polyesters. Listed below are some of the main applications Meter Mix® machines are used for:

Potting and Encapsulation

Many electrical and electronic components such as coils, toroids, transformers, power supplies and printed circuit boards, are potted using polyurethanes or epoxies.
The quantity dispensed may be from a few grams up to many kilograms. Also due to the continuing requirement for improved quality many customers now require components to be potted under vacuum.

Rapid Prototyping and Model Making

Rapid prototyping and model making is an area where Resin Injection Moulding enables the rapid production of components from silicone, resin or metal moulds. Meter Mix® not only supply machines for resin injection but also for the production of silicone moulds.
Many parts are produced under vacuum depending on their complexity.

Casting

The production of parts cast in open or closed moulds using polyesters or polyurethanes. High outputs are often required as the component size may be large or the resin used may have a fast gel time.

Bonding

The assembly of parts using high strength adhesive systems. Beads of adhesive can be applied directly from the machine using the hand held gun.

Filters

The production of many types of filter including those used for oil, air and water and other liquids involve the mixing and dispensing of two part polyurethanes and epoxies as well as single part plastisols. Meter Mix® not only supply the dispensing machine but also rotary tables and XY systems.

Filling

The filling of liquids and pastes from bulk is a growth area for Meter Mix®. We supply equipment to fill single and dual syringes and cartridges as well as tins and other containers. A high degree of accuracy better than 0.5% is achieved with the Meter Mix® pump. This not only eliminates wastage but also speeds throughput by removing operator control.

Bead and Gasket Laying

There is often the requirement to lay precise patterns of sealant or gasketing resins onto components such as electrical fittings and motor covers to form in place gaskets. The Meter Mix® XY System is ideal for this application with working envelopes from 250mm square upwards. The XY System can be connected to any dispensing machine with interfaces to provide start/stop signals.

Coating

We are often asked to provide machines to feed roller coating machines with mixed material for applications such as wood veneering and the coating of fabrics and mesh panels.

Insulating Glass Units

The application of edge sealant to glass units is a long established application involving the mixing of polyurethanes, polysulphides and silicones.
Structural glazing where the unit is bonded into subframes is also an area covered by the PAR20 and PAR200 machines.
